Sikorsky Aviation Corporation has launched the first solar panel array. The company in its city of Stratford, Conn., factory installed on new construction roof 450 solar panels.
Solar photovoltaic system is expected to generate 106,250 kwh of clean electricity annually. The company estimates that its environmental benefits in the environment the equivalent of removing 72,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, 53 pounds of nitrogen oxides and 31 pounds of sulfur dioxide.
