Batteries usually can be used for 3 to 5 years. Life expectancy depends on many factors, including the use of (equipment must be in the number of battery-powered mode), and other environmental factors. Here are some of your equipment to ensure optimum use of the principle of life expectancy:
1 Make sure your APC UPS placed in a cool, dry and ventilated place. Ideally, UPS placed where the temperature should not exceed 24 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, for ventilation purposes, are set aside on each side about 1-2 inches of space for air ventilation.
2 year only if necessary 1 to 2 times a UPS runtime calibration. Sometimes, you can run your run-time calibration to verify whether the running time is sufficient. However, frequently perform run-time calibration will reduce the APC battery life expectancy.
3. Do not store the APC battery long time. New batteries can be stored for 6-12 months. After this time, they should use the battery as soon as possible, otherwise it will lose its large storage capacity. Not recommended for storage of used batteries.
4 Do not over load the UPS rated capacity of 80%, as this will result in reduced run time. Load increases, the running time will be reduced accordingly. If the power can not supply full load of the UPS will soon run out and release the battery power, this will reduce battery life expectancy. Note: To ensure longer battery run time, do the laser printer connected to the UPS battery backup outlets. To ensure that laser printers use the “Surge only” outlet (using the appropriate model). For those who do not “Surge only” outlet of the UPS, recommended laser printer connected to a separate APC surge suppressor.
