Intel will start plan of 14 nanometers massproduction in 2013. The first model may be Atom Z2580. The product is not Intel’s high-end products, but it carries the hope that Intel used to smart phones and tablet PC devices.
According to introduce, Atom Z2580 will built-in 4G LTE network support, which is highly energy efficient. Intel would like to challenge the ARM chips dominant position in mobile devices.
According to Intel planning, the Airmont 14-nanometer chips will be produced in 2014. However, as competitors, IBM and Samsung have already begun 14-nm R&D work, who hope to take a share in this process area.
